What the eye doesn’t see doesn’t move the heart

Quest:
Volunteers for HAITI provides the laity with an
opportunity to serve God’s people in the poorest country
in the western hemisphere.
Volunteers are committed to developing their
spirituality, living simply, growing in community and
working for social justice that challenges unjust
structures. They live with the Religious of Jesus and
Mary and share in their mission.
For the past four years, volunteers have served in the
mountain town of Gros Morne, which is about five hours
north of Port-au-Prince. For the past two years
volunteers have also served in a second site in Jean
Rabel, a hamlet northwest of Gros Morne.
Volunteers work in a variety of community organizing
efforts in Haiti; health care, gardening, education,
youth groups, artisan groups, reforestation efforts.
RJM’s, volunteers, and Haitians work together to meet
the many needs of the people.
There are opportunities for summer and year-long
commitments. For more information, contact Sr. Rita
Ricker, RJM, 4602 Clemson Road, College Park, MD 20740.
